Visitor Entrance & Parking
VMH’s main lobby and free patient/visitor parking may be accessed off South Main Street by turning east on South or Hickory Streets and following the directional signs. Hospital patients and visitors will find a covered drive-up canopy for patient drop-off and pick-up, along with ample parking. All VMH visitors should use the first floor, main lobby entrance.

Although we have no restricted visiting hours at Vernon Memorial Hospital, there are times of day when it is better to see a patient. Early morning is the time for doctor visits, therapies and other types of patient care, so the best time to visit is typically after 11 a.m. We also encourage visitors to leave by 8:30 p.m., so that patients may get their needed rest. Under special circumstances, family members may stay at a patient’s bedside throughout the night.
- Parents are welcome to stay with their hospitalized children.
- If you have a cold or other respiratory infection, please avoid visiting.
- Substitute Mylar balloons for latex ones to assist us in remaining latex-free for the safety of our patients and staff.
- Smoking and/or the use of tobacco products (cigarettes, e-cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco, snuff, pipes, etc.) in our buildings or on our grounds is strictly prohibited. This includes our patient and staff parking areas.

When you visit a friend or loved one in the hospital, sometimes you want to bring a small token of your concern or a little something to brighten up the room. Our Gift Shop is a wonderful place to stop on your way to visit a patient.
The Gift Shop also features clothing, jewelry, home décor, infant & toddler clothing, and more – making it the perfect stop to shop for gifts for birthdays, holidays, and more!
Operated by the Friends of VMH, the VMH Gift Shop is located in the main lobby of Vernon Memorial Hospital. Best of all, 100% of its proceeds benefit Vernon Memorial Healthcare programs and services.

The Bistro
Visitors may enjoy breakfast from 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m., and lunch from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Monday-Friday in the hospital cafeteria, located in the hospital’s lower level. Vending machines, including handmade sandwiches and an assortment of fresh products, and soda machines are also located in a room across the hall from The Bistro and available 24/7.
An ATM Machine is located in the hospital lobby.
A post office drop box can be found under the drive-up canopy in front of the hospital. Mail is picked up once daily, Monday through Friday.
