Education: Dr. Lawrence was graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University
(B.A., 1983), then studied medicine at Northwestern University Medical School
(M.D., 1987)
Residency: Residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center;
Fellowship at Anderson Clinic in joint Arthroplasty (reconstruction or replacement
or arthritic joints)
Clinical instructor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Loyola University
and an attending surgeon at Hines Veterans Administration Hospital.
Medical Interests: In addition to primary joint replacement surgery, Dr. Lawrence
also performs complex reconstructions and revisions of previously replaced joints.
As a former varsity football player at Harvard, Dr. Lawrence has a particular
interest in treating sports-related injuries. He is a team physician at Highland
Park High School.
Honors, Awards, Affiliations: Dr. Lawrence has authored numerous articles and
has given many presentations regarding joint arthoplasty, which have appeared
in The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery , Clinical Orthopaedics and Related
Research, Orthopaedic Clinics of North America, Journal of Arthoscopy, and Orthopaedic
Review.
He is a member of the American Medical Association, the Illinois Medical Society,
the Lake County Medical Society, the Illinois Orthopedic Society, and the Chicago
Orthopedic Society. Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons, Dr.
Lawrence is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
